Developer for media tech company in London

Ruby50 is searching for a developer to work with a leading media and publishing company that is built on innovative technology.

Working with with in-house designers under the guidance of a project manager, you will be using bespoke in-house tech to deliver code that touches all areas of the business.

This company takes a rigorous approach to development with thorough testing and QA before production deployment.

While the server side technologies are built in Rails and tested with RSpec and Cucumber, there is a lot of JavaScript AJAX tech on the client side.

Successful applicants will have strong front-end skills, alongside good knowledge of ruby/rails and good understanding of coding best practice.

Required Skills:

• OOP background
• 18 months Rails
• Understanding of RESTful resources and coding best practice
• JavaScript (jQuery)
• CSS
• Good communication skills

• TDD/BDD (RSpec, Cukes)
• JavaScript unit testing (Jasmine/Screw Unit)
• Experience integrating with third-party APIs
• Experience working on high traffic apps
